Happy Birthday Baby Ben!

Hello!

There are lots of pictures to go with this entry. We just have a lot to show you this month. As we crawl into February we are surviving this cold, damp, snowy weather. I have to say... just like you I suppose... I don't fancy the January and February months. Maybe that is why God gave me Ben... his birthday makes January a little bit better. Now that it's over I'm ready for spring. I'm ready for walks outside, deep breaths of fresh air, and sun on my face. Until then- I'll just have to enjoy my sweet sweet little family. They do make me smile!

Boo... I see you!

Taylor and Dave lounging on the couch before bedtime.
Here is how bedtime goes these days... "Taylor, time for bed." "No, I need to eat something before bedtime."
David now has a game too... "Taylor, if you get off the couch you have to go to bed." She's getting quite good at staying on the couch!
Friends dancing after music class!

Jason with Ben at Lynn's Paradise Cafe. Katy and Jason came in town to see a Doctor for the babies (due in June). I'm thrilled to say that so far it looks like they'll be having healthy little babies. A girl for her and a boy for him! We're so excited for them!!!

"What, you don't need my help in the kitchen?
Evangeline and Taylor pose for a picture at Evangeline's 3rd birthday!

Evangeline's Aunt Jamie and the boys!
Four future SHA alumnae!

Does this snow suite look like something right out of the 80's??? Yep! It's mine from when I was little.

Her highness preferred for Pops to pull her up the hill rather than walk up herself!

LuLu trying to be brave and show Taylor sledding is fun... she bailed half way down to baby bunny slope!

But she figured she could show Taylor how to make snow angles... but Bailey wanted to learn too!

"I'm cold... can we go back inside?"...

Sledding with Mom!

Sledding with Dad!

Everyone's outside but me!!!!!!!!!

Our birthday dinner for Ben!

This is a blurry picture but look at Granddaddy's hair! Have you ever seen one hair out of place? Oh what Grandchildren can get away with!

He's a mover and a shaker these days! He's weighing in at a hefty 17lbs. and 10oz. 29 inches. Well ok, so he's not too hefty yet but we'll get there. He's a healthy boy- and for that we are grateful!

The closest thing to a family picture we may get in along time!

We went to Art Sparks with our good friends Avani and her Mom, Sujata. Art Sparks is part of the Speed Museum on UofL's campus and it is wonderful!
The art room where you can paint, draw, and create!
Avani, let me help you and try to draw all over your picture! (I didn't take a picture of the next move- but Avani stood her ground and gently pushed Taylor away!) These girls are too much together!
...I want to do it too but I only know how to eat the crayons!

This was the coolest room. Your body movements were projected onto the screen and they supplied hula hops and scarfs to move with too. This was Ben's favorite room. He stared at all the kids who played here.

Ben's birthday party with "his friends" at Shine!

Shine (http://www.shinelouisville.com/) is where Taylor, Ben, and I take Music Together classes with, Shine owner, Maria Whitley Roachman. We tried something different for Ben's birthday. We've always had a party at our home for Taylor and had a couple friends and mostly family over to celebrate. The winter months make it hard for everyone to be cooped up inside our home. So- for Ben we invited some of our friends to Shine to sing and dance with us. We weren't able to incorporate all our family in this birthday party which was different, but Ben had a wonderful time! Our friend Tommy said, "I think Ben is the only 1 year old that actually loved his party! All other babies have no idea what is going on!" Our kids love Music Together and it was fun sharing it with some of our friends too!

Happy Birthday! We love you Ben!
And I'd just like to brag a bit on Taylor... She is in Parents Day Out two days a week. Today I picked her up and she had made a craft of her face with Abraham Lincoln's Hat on. They were learning about Abraham Lincoln since this is his birthday month. Her teacher told me Taylor shouted in class, "Barack Obama" when she was telling the class about Abraham Lincoln. Her Godmother, Lauren, gave her Obama's children's book for Christmas. In the book Obama talks about what Lincoln and Washington did for our country. She has put together that all three men are Presidents. This may not make sense the way I'm explaining it- but my kid is smart!
Ok- there you have it... the month of January in pictures. It has been a long entry- but I hope you enjoyed hearing about our month. We wish you a warm ending to the cold winter- and that it comes soon!
All our best~Megan!
