It is 9 degrees here in Louisville. Ben and I are watching Curious George drinking "warm" hot chocolate (he doesn't like hot things:) and I'm having hot tea. We are buried under a blanket while Molly takes a nap. I just have to remember pick up Taylor from school in an hour...
I hope this new year has been full of some love, laughter, and warmth for you so far. It sure is a cold one. The kids and I snuck to the pool at the Y the other day and dreamed of sun on our face and playing at the park. They were able to get some energy out though!
snow days and more snow days...
I could only let them watch tv for so long. So then they helped me clean!
You may remember this sweet ride from my high school and college days! We sold it to a teenager and then bought it back two years later. He put big tires on it and my once "Julie the Jeep" has turned into more of a James. But this guy really likes it and it has come in handy with all our snow days we have had so far.
Aunt Marie (Virginia's sister) came into again this year to decorate gingerbread houses with the kids. It has become a tradition they look forward to every year!
How cute are these sweet little ones? Taylor became shy as soon as we got to Santa. Ben only (ever) has eyes for Molly and Molly... This year she didn't think a thing about the large man who dresses in a red suit and has children sit on his lap while they share their wishes for Christmas gifts they hope to see under the tree... after he delivers them to children ALL over this big huge world, parking his sleigh on their roofs while his flying reindeer wait for him to slip down the SKINNY chimney and place the gifts they asked for under the tree... Yes, I had a hard time with Christmas this year. Why do we tell our children about the "magic" of Santa? And why does Santa never age? Or even... go to Heaven? And why are we buying tons of toys for our kids when they have enough??? We settled on 5 presents under the tree for Taylor and Ben. Molly got 2 in her stocking. Our kids were happy and I will tell you that when they saw their gifts under the tree it was magic. They squealed at the site of scooters that Santa brought them and it made me tear up... just like I am now! I will tell you- It is quite tricky being a Santa. I almost slipped twice:)
David and I were able to catch a Zac Brown Band concert in Lexington, KY in Dec. Many thanks to Mark and Virginia for watch all 3 over night so we could get away! Zac Brown is our favorite!
I think he's growing:) He's been very tired lately...
Father Bill married David and I on May 26, 2006 at The Church of Epiphany. He came back for Christmas Eve mass this year and we had to get a picture of him with sweet Molly.
Our biggest baby
David and Taylor are using YouTube to figure out the rainbow loom. Rainbow loom bracelets are the craze right now across elementary age kids in Louisville (and probably everywhere else:)
5 gals that have been friends more than 15 years!
One of the best things Sacred Heart ever gave to me!
Uncle Kurt with Molly
4 cousins, 1 iPad
Some activities to get us out of the house!
These kids have lots in common. Baby Simon and Molly are about a week apart. Their big brothers, Isaiah and Ben, are only one day apart! Speaking of birthdays... These boys turn 4 this week!
Do you love her outfit??? She designed it:)
Molly tried it too!
Molly will be 8 months on the 30th of this month and Ben will be 4 YEARS OLD on January 27!
I hope all of you stay warm during all of this cold and snow and stay tuned for more action from our little bundles of fun!
