escaping our messy home!

What we have been up to lately... Lunch with Dad... David found a coffee/ sandwich place close to his office that has a kids corner. It was a hit with Taylor!

Rainy days...

With our kitchen still being renovated we are eating out a lot. We took Taylor to hibachi grill and she was pretty impressed with the fish!
And here is our kitchen with the new floor. In a couple days the island will be added in the middle, the cabinets will be leveled, and the appliances will be installed!
We went ahead and had the living room and dining room stained to match the kitchen. They were stained darker than before and we are very pleased.
Here is the difference...

While the floors were being sanded we escaped to St. Louis and Owensboro to visit friends and family. While we were in St. Louis- it was a perfect time for Taylor to get her birthday present from her cousins (who have also moved homes in the last several months.) What a great gift! Uncle Mark even put it together for her so she could play with it at his house!

The finished product! You can see the model has some updates in the past few years...

Dance party at Miles and Lucy's!

So we have been trying to make the most of our messy house. We are settled in more and enjoying our new home. We are slowly but surely making it our home! We hope you are doing well and hope to see you soon!

Friends, first airplane ride, and first kiss...

We are world travelers! We visited our friends Jeff, Allison, and Cooper Bolton this past weekend in Boston. We hit three states in roughly four hours. For Taylor and me, we went to Maryland, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts for the first time together. David had already been to these states- but it was fun for us! It was Taylor's first place ride and although I wouldn't say she did great- we survived the plane ride and she did okay. Luckily the jets were really loud and we had a window seat 3 out of 4 take offs. It was very challenging keeping a one year old entertained on the plane and keeping her still in her seat. Yikes! We had a great time with Jeff and Allison. We saw lots of Boston and parts of their lives which was really neat. It was also nice to be in a clean house for a change. (Our house is still a disaster but I added pictures of our kitchen to share with you all.) Their Cooper also put the moves on Taylor and she officially had her first kiss! By the end of the trip they had the "lean in" down perfectly and they were fast friends! (no pun intended...)

PS- as I was getting ready to update the blog, the neighborhood kids came to the door to ask David to play dodge ball with them and he said yes! So cute!

"How do I get out of here?"

Sleeping on the way to Boston... sleeping was good!

Playing in Cooper's playroom!

Playing in Cooper's backyard. Cooper liked it much more when he was in his car and not Taylor!

Allison and me pushing our little ones in downtown Boston. Cooper is trying to hold Taylor's hand!

Playing in the froggy pond in the Boston Common.

Watching boats with Dad

And her first kiss!

Dave and Jeff in front of Jeff's home in Boston... It is funny to think where life has taken us all- they are now Doctors (a dentist and a pediatrician in a peds neurology residency) and Fathers!

On the way home after a great weekend!

Good friends eating together! Blakely and Tommy came in town for the weekend. We can't wait for them to be back in town... soon- very soon!

Playing with Mary Thomas- check out her smile!

Best buddies!

Playing dress up!

New changes and exciting news!

Well- we have been in our new home of 2312 Tuckaho Rd. Lou, KY 40207 since June 15th. I'd say we are settled in but are not quite ready to call it home sweet home. We are renovating the kitchen starting 7/13 and giving the master bath a face lift. These will help us feel more at home. We still have lots of work to do- but slowly we will make it our home. David and I did not realize how leaving our Crescent Hill home would affect us. It took several days of true grieving but we are enjoying our new home more and more!

David has power washed the deck and our friends, Katy and Jason, came to visit us over the weekend to help us build a fence for Bailey dog. Well- really just the boys built the fence- but Katy and I were a great support!

the newly power washed deck was a hit at our 4th of July cook- out

It seems we have been up to a lot lately besides moving. In the midst of our moving we traveled to Pittsburgh, PA to visit my Dad's Aunt Frances. We had a nice time and Taylor was great on the road. She is such a sweet girl.

Aunt Frances, 95 years young, is in good health and is as sharp as she ever was! She loved watching Taylor play and chatter in Taylor language.

Mom, David, and I took a trip to see Falling Water, a home designed by Frank Loyd Wright. It is just as beautiful every time we go! (We also squeezed a Pirates game in but didn't take pictures.)

It also makes a great background for pictures...
Taylor gives sweet kisses now...

And these two beauties are going to be parents again! It came as a bit of a surprise but will be adding to our family at the end of January. We are very excited and will be busy with two just 20 months apart. We feel very blessed. Please keep us in your prayers for a healthy baby! We hope this entry has found you well and that you are enjoying your summer. Take Care and we will write soon!
