Playing Catch Up!

Wow!  4 months has passed and time has flown.  Ben turned 4, Taylor is soon to be 6, Molly is 10 months, and David is almost 20 pounds lighter!  We are finally able to play outside in the sunshine on the beautiful day.  We are so grateful for the sunshine!  As I type- David is playing in the dirt, trying to make sense of this huge yard of ours.  He's delegating jobs to his "helpers" that will be very short lived... I'm sure.  Taylor is already talking about taking a break for lemonade!

Finally there is no more snow!

Happy number 4 to this guy!

Yes- I made this cake.  Just call me mother of the year:)

I brought hot Krispy Kreme Doughnuts to school for his birthday...

It's better to open presents as a Captain America!

Fun with Reaves!

David and Jon played in a Church basketball league this winter and we were able to watch a couple games...

Taylor insists on picking Molly up and holding her like a doll.  I feel so sorry for Molly sometimes.  I think there possibly something as being loved TOO much!

Ben played soccer this winter and both kids are playing spring soccer.  They seem to really like it!  I'll get some pictures of them this Saturday.

"Nobody plays with me anymore since there are THREE of you in my house now so pick up that ball and PLAY WITH ME BABY!"

Cheering on our Lady Cards!

This is a much better picture of David and Molly!

Mom and I went to George Straight! It was a blast and she stayed up late!

Cheering on our Cards during the tournament!

Gramma took the kids horse back riding during spring break. They had such a great time and the instruction was fantastic!

He'll protect her from everything I think:)

The last couple days of spring break we went to St. Louis with two other families of 5. We all have babies and older kiddos the same age. This was fun and although traveling with 15 can be a challenge- we had a great time!  We stayed in a hotel (which is really all you have to do for kids to think it's a fun vacation!) and visited the Magic House, a Children's Museum, and The City Museum.

These are from the Children's Museum...

These are from the City Museum!  This was a fantastic place created by an Artist.  He bought an old shoe factory in downtown St. Louis and made it into a place full of art you can climb on, touch, see, and play on.  Really- it is a must go to!  Even David and I were able to climb in and on top of things and underground!  My explanations nor pictures will do it justice- but we had a great time and were exhausted when after spending 5 hours exploring...

Taylor and Ben trying to climb in opposite directions of each other...

The City Museum has the largest mosaic in the world.

 Sliding down 3 stories!

And another slide outside.  There were also 5 and 10 story slides!

Since we were in St. Louis- we had to visit with our cousins...

Here are our good friends Jamie and Jacob.  Jamie and I went to high school together.  Jacob has recently written and illustrated a children's book, Scaredy Kate! Check it out on Amazon for now, Scaredy Kate by: Jacob Grant.  If you're in the Louisville are on May 31st he'll be having a book signing at the Comfy Cow on Frankfort Ave.  This is super cool stuff!

First lemonade stand of the year!

Molly prefers to be part of the action vs just a by stander:)  She is hilarious these days.  We got into the car yesterday and both big kids had a snack.  I gave her a pacifier (which is the norm) and she chucked it across the floor and demanded a snack too just like her brother and sister.  She is a character.  When she is in parents day out or child care at the YMCA- she goes up to other babies and will pull their pacifiers right out of their mouths and then claim it as hers.  She also pulls hair and Ben has taught her how to roar like a dinosaur so beware!

See- we do still pay attention to Bailey!  She's such a good sport!

This is where Molly takes a stretch while we get gas on road trips.  She looks like she belongs there- doesn't she???

Me and David's Aunt Lisa.  We recently traveled to Stubenville, OH for Aunt Sandy's wedding and Lisa was came in town from FL.  We had a short but great visit with Mark's (David's Dad) brother and sisters!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Here is Molly in my Easter dress.  Taylor wore it too and I am in search of a picture of her in it.  I hope Easter Sunday was a beautiful for you as it was for us in Louisville.  We had a great day at mass and a great dinner at Mark and Virginia's with my parents too.  We are blessed with great family!
(and friends too!)

David continues to work with is Dad at Schulte Family Dentistry.  He is a great Hubby, Dad, and yard man these days.  He does get a little down time twice a week and plays basketball at the YMCA after work.  As we come upon our 8 year anniversary, we think (for the moment) we have found a good recipe for how to make our marriage work with 3 kids and him being the main provider.  We try as hard as we can for us to balance our relationship, time with our kiddos, and time by ourselves.  It ain't easy- that is for sure- but we've got it figured out for the moment!  It is pretty special since my parents just celebrated 38 years together and David's parents are getting ready to celebrate 40 years in June.  Now THAT should be celebrated!

I'm still in my MOPS (mom's) group and Bible study.  We're reading the Red Tent by: Anita Diamant right now and it is really good.  I get to work out at the YMCA weekly and our family is beginning to volunteer at the Kids Cafe every other month.  Taylor is in kindergarten and is reading!  This is one of the coolest things.  I watch her wheels turn as she sounds out syllables and puts them together to make words.  She's doing basic addition and subtraction.  My amazement of how teachers can teach 24 kids to read and write at the same time baffles me.  More importantly- she loves school and loves to learn so I think her teacher should get a gold star!  She is also doing gymnastics and music together after school.

Ben is in preschool 3 days a week and loves school too.  He is my home body child and can play at home for hours upon hours.  He is big into transformers and every movement he makes has sound effects.  I think this is hilarious.  Last night, while tucking him in, he told me that he needs to recharge his body.  He showed me where his invisible plug is and how he pours gas into him to make him go faster.  "Isn't that cool!?"  Yes Ben- Very cool!

OK- I've written tons and I think you are caught up on our lives.  Next month Taylor turns 6 and Molly turns 1.  School is our in the beginning of June and then it is the pool and a short vacation in July to Michigan City with just the 5 of us.  We've never vacationed just us!  We have lots to look forward to and we wish you the brightest of days this month and lots of May flowers!

Love- Megan!
