Greetings- This blog is full of lots of heart and love. Although, today my heart is heavy and full. Watching the news is usually makes my count my blessings but with all the devastation that Harvey, Irma, and now Jose has caused and is still causing so much havoc. I sit on my porch every morning sipping my favorite local coffee with my favorite creamer and read my devotion and pray for you, for this world, and I think... How did I end up with a roof over my head every night, a plethora of food in my cabinets and fridge, healthy kids, loving husband that provides for us and others are living in the streets, hungry and scared? Now we have had a natural disaster that has left so many without homes and their families. How is this fair and where does God fit into all of this? I am not suggesting that God leaves people without food and shelter or that God created these huge storms to leave people without anything but still I'm puzzled as to why bad things happen to good people. (And yes, I've read the book:)
Anyway- now you have a piece of what goes through my mind everyday when I'm with my family, when I kiss my kids goodnight, and when I say my prayers. I'm also reading a book, Left To Tell about a survivor of the Rwandan Holocaust. The prayers she prayed and the continual conversations with God are astounding and inspirational. To hear her story has obviously changed my thinking when I think I'm having a bad day. I really have nothing to complain about...
Okay- so I realize you really only check my blog to see my pictures and my cute kids and what all we have been up to. We had a fun filled summer full of the pool, the beach, celebrations, travel, friends, and relaxation. Here are some highlights!
We went to Chicago to visit friends and see some sights. We walked everywhere and our kids complained the whole time we walked anywhere so David and I thought- Great! We don't have to go the Disney World anytime soon!!!
Molly got her first American Girl Doll and Taylor got some accessories for her doll. Ben went to Lego Land and got some great kits to put together. He loves legos and puts the kits together in no time. It was so awesome to see all the creations at Lego Land that required thousands of legos!
The kids went rock climbing in the middle of a new park.
Our sweet friend Jamie and Jacob and their little Javi!

We lived to see the Eclipse! I'm still working at our Dental Office a day or two a week. David and I are still married so it seems to be working out for us. I'm helping where I can and really enjoying being a part of our office:) I'm also serving on our local YMCA Board for the 3rd year and Kentucky Wesleyan College Alumni Board for the 4th year. We're all busy but it is all good work!
This girl climbs everywhere! She is play volleyball this fall and is taking aerial classes. She loves to climb and seems to be the happiest when she is twisting and turning in silks.
This boy loves 2nd grade and hanging with his friends. I try to eat lunch with the kids once a month. They usually pick a friend to eat with us. Ben is playing flag football this fall too.
Sending you all love and laughter throughout the rest of the season. We have family in Texas and Florida and we are especially thinking of you. We sponsor a young boy Ben's age named Andrami. He lives in the Dominican Republic and I just received an email that his family needs extra prayers for the safety of his children. We are so lucky... We are so very lucky. We are thankful too- for you and for all the wonderful things we will witness the rest of this season. Take Care and we hope to see you again soon!
